SAP Knowledge Base Article - PublicSymptom
A report created in Online Report Designer cannot display in the Preview page because it contains too many cells and cannot load in time.
Environment
SuccessFactors Online Report Designer
Reproducing the Issue
Open report page in Preview, observe rendering error in red.
Open same report page in editor. The table will display.
Cause
The page editor only queries the top 100 rows and will not time out due to sheer volume of records (though query complexity may still cause timeouts) but the Preview attempts to render the entire query. If it is too large it will not complete.
Resolution
To view the complete results, add the report to a bundle in Report Distributor and select Run Offline. You will be able to download the export from Report Distributor Downloads, and timeouts will not be a concern.
