2307151 - Voluntary and Involuntary Terminations & Termination Rate do not add up to total measure

Symptom

A termination is either voluntary or involuntary, but the sum of Voluntary Terminations and Involuntary Terminations does not add up to the total Terminations.  The same is true of the equivalent Termination Rate measures.

Environment

SuccessFactors Workforce Analytics

Reproducing the Issue

Go to Query Workspace.

Create a query with the measures Terminations, Terminations - Voluntary and Terminations - Involuntary.

Add the latter two together to see whether they match the total measure.

Cause

A company may choose to categorise some terminations outside of Voluntary or Involuntary, for instance a termination for medical reasons.

Resolution

Open the standard measure page for Terminations.

Analyze by Separation Reason.  The Voluntary and Involuntary categories will display along with any others that fall outside the two.

Any other category with non-zero figures (e.g. "Other Termination") needs to be factored into any calculation intended to add up to the total Terminations.
