2307933 - Hide Inactive Successors from Succession Org Chart and Talent Pool

Symptom

Inactive users are displayed as nominations in the Succession Org Chart and/or Talent Pools. This article provides information on how to hide inactive successors from Succession Org Chart and Talent Pools pages.

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Succession Management

Reproducing the Issue

1. Go to the Succession Org Chart/Talent Pool
2. Verify an inactive user is displayed as a nomination

Resolution

By default, the nomination is visible on Succession Org Chart/Talent Pool for inactive users; however, it is possible to hide these nominations by enabling the following setting on Provisioning:

"Succession Management: Hide inactive users from the list of successors in the org chart and omit them from new form creation (auto-population of previous successors)."

To enable this setting in Provisioning, contact your Implementation Partner. If you don't have a Partner, you can find for SAP Certified Partners via the SAP Partner Finder or, alternatively, speak with your Account Executive or Customer Engagement Executive about Professional Services options. If you are no longer working with an Implementation Partner, contact SAP Cloud Support (component LOD-SF-SCM-SCR).

Note 1: If you are using position sync and vacant positions, which have hidden successors, are not being removed from your position hierarchy, it is recommended to disable the above setting. Then the inactive successors will be visible in Succession Org Chart and can be manually removed. It is important to note that enabling this option will not cause the system to skip the validation of vacant positions with hidden successors.

Note 2: If this option is not enabled inactive employees will not be seen in the Talent Pools UI, other than where the users target population is set to "All Employees". This is because inactive users cannot be included in the target population associated to Talent Pool permissions.
