2308324 - PI Monitoring false alerts: "HTTP 401 Unauthorized" error

After configuring Central PI Monitoring in Solution Manager 7.1, false availability alerts are periodically raised in the Alert Inbox for one or more different PI Components (Integration Directory, Adapter Engine, ESR, Mapping Runtime, etc.). All of these recurrent false alerts have the same text value: HTTP [401] : HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized, shown either in the alert details of the false alert or in the E2E Alert Analysis Report generated within the notification (if notifications are activated).
