2308529 - Instructor authorized to teach only one item can be set as primary instructor for other items

Considering an Instructor which is authorized to teach one specific item. 

If you select this person as Primary Instructor for another item, the system does not show any warning message.

1. Navigate to Learning Administration >
2. People >
3. Instructors >
4. Search for the instructor >
5. Select 'Authorized to Teach' tab >
6. Check which item he is authorized to teach.
7. Navigate to any Class in other item that not in the Authorized to Teach list and add this instructor as Primary Instructor.
8. The System does not show any warning message or impede the admin to save the changes.

OR

1. Navigate to Learning Administration >
2. Learning Activities >
3. Item >
4. Access tab 'Instructors' >
5. Add Instructors as Authorized to Teach >
6. Navigate to any Class in other item that not in the Authorized to Teach list and add this instructor as Primary Instructor.
7. The System does not show any warning message or impede the admin to save the changes.

This situation is the expected system behaviour.

Setting someone as authorized to teach an item does not impede that instructor from teaching other Item's Class. Instead, it can block other instructors from teaching in that item this instructor is Authorized to Teach.

If you want to make sure that only Authorized to Teach Instructors will be available in the selectable list of instructors, please note the following:

1. Navigate to the Item >
2. Access tab 'Instructors' >
3. Add Instructors as Authorized to Teach. If you set Instructors as Authorized to teach that item via Instructors Menu ( People > Instructors > "authorized to teach" tab), that instructor will already be on the list.
4. IMPORTANT: Check the option "Check Instructor Authorisation" checkbox >
5. Apply changes.

After this if you navigate to a Class scheduled for this item, only specific instructor will be available in list of instructors.
