2308718 - Error: Release SAP_LEAP of Solution is not Compatible with System

Symptom

You see the below error when attempting to upload a solution to your tenant.

Release SAP_LEAP XYZ of solution is not compatible with system

Environment

  • SAP Cloud Applications Studio
  • SAP Cloud for Customer
  • SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login to the Cloud Applications Studio in Development Tenant.
  2. Download the zip file of your custom solution from Development Tenant.
  3. Login to the Cloud Application Studio in Production Tenant.
  4. Upload the zip file of your custom solution into Production Tenant.
  5. The above error occurs.

Cause

You will receive this error message while trying to deploy the patch version from Development Tenant [Higher Release Version] to Production Tenant [Lower Release Version].

Case 1

  • You cannot deploy a solution to a target tenant which is in a different release version. This means when your test tenant upgrades to version 1805, you cannot deploy an 1805 patch / solution to your 1802 production tenant.

Case 2

  • You also cannot upload a solution downloaded at a time when the release version is older that 2 versions previous to the current release version of the target tenant - eg: you cannot upload a solution assembled/downloaded in 2408 to a tenant currrently on 2505.

Resolution

Case 1: You must wait until the source and the target tenants are on the same release version - in an emergency on production please avail of Production Bug Fix to achieve custom logic changes - restrictions apply.

Case 2: Ensure the solution is downloaded from a test tenant on the same release version as the target tenant.
