2308824 - Not Possible to Create Service Agent from Existing Employee

You get an error while creating Business Partner as Service Agent : Maintain internal employees only via Master Data Replication work center.

The question Do you want to replicate employee data from external application or solution of your cloud solution?

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Business Partner Data workcenter.
2. Select Business Partner view.
3. Search for required Business Partner.
4. Select Create As ,  Service Agent.
5. Select Save.

Error received as mentioned above.

The current model is that the Employee and Service Agent share the same instance. The BO is Employee and it has two Employment Type. Internal Employee and External Employee (Service Agent).

So there are information which is common for these two Employment Types.

If the Master Data Replication is active, these common nodes cannot be changed. Instead it should be replicated.

When Employee Replication is switched on, changes to employee data is only permitted via Master Data Replication workcenter. Hence, the above change is not permitted.

System is working as expected.
