2309478 - Not Able to Create a New Material Using Copy Functionality With In Preparation Status

Your requirement is to create a new Material using the existing Material. Upon selecting Copy functionality With In Preparation Status no data is copied in any fields.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Product Portfolio workcenter
2. Go to Products view
3. Go to By Materials subview
4. Select the Product
5. Select Copy-> With In Preparation Status
6. New Material screen opens, but there is no data copied in it in any of the tabs

The Product/Material does not work due to Distribution Channel which no longer exists in the system.

You may check the Distribution Channels associated with the Product as below:

1. Go to Product Portfolio workcenter
2. Go to Products view
3. Go to By Materials subview
4. Search for the Product
5. Select Edit (View All) the Material
6. Go to Sales tab and observe the Distribution Channel

Since there are Products that use the Distribution Channel, you need to add these Distribution Channels in the system by following the below steps:

1. Go to Business Configuration work center
2. Select Implementation Projects view or Overview
3. Search and Open the activity Distribution Channel
4. Select Add Row and maintain the required Distribution Channels with their Descriptions

Now, Copy->With In Preparation Status should work as expected.
