Symptom
Using multiple browser tabs or windows within the same system or tenant may lead to inconsistent behavior, user interface (UI) dumps, session timeouts, and other errors that are not observed in single-tab browsing.
"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental."
Environment
- SAP Cloud for Customer
- SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Open the system in the browser and perform the logon.
- Open a new browser tab/window for the same system and user.
- After working this way for some time, inconsistent behavior occurs, including error messages (UI dumps) and session timeouts.
Cause
When using multi-tab browsing, parallel sessions might send different requests to the server and will cause inconsistency, during handling data requests, resulting in errors. Thus, it is not recommended to use multi-tab browsing.
Resolution
Instead of using multiple browser tabs/windows, it is recommended to use multiple tabs internally within system for accessing different objects, as shown below.
