2310409 - Total page number is displayed as '*' in a SmartForms output

Symptom

  1. A SmartForm spool has 10 or more pages
  2. The instructions of SAP Note #588352 - "'*' when you output the total number of pages" were already followed
  3. Even if enough space was reserved by using a formatting option like (3ZC), the number of total pages is not displayed correctly.
    The character star/asterisk ('*') is displayed instead of the total number of pages.
