2312059 - "Error: Could not open app. Try again later" raises when clicking on Fiori tiles in launchpad after SP02 Upgrade

Symptom

  • The system was just upgraded from SAP Solution Manager 7.2 SP01 to SP02.
  • When clicking on any Fiori tile that launches an application the following error is raised:

  • A dump is generated at the same time this error occurs of the type:

    Category               ABAP Programming Error
    Runtime Errors         ASSIGN_TYPE_CONFLICT
    ABAP Program           /UI2/CL_LPD_UTILS=============CP
  • A complete system restart seems to address the issue only for a short time.
