Symptom
When you replicate Product Categories from SAP CRM to C4C, system throws below error message:
Changing ROOT_PROD_CATEG_INTERNAL_ID not possible; field is read-only
Resolution
As a prerequisite to replicate CRM product categories to C4C is to do the following only one time:
1. Create a new hierarchy in C4C:
- Go to your C4C system
- Go to Products work center
- Select Product Categories
- Select New Hierarchy button. (Note: In C4C you can create only one hierarchy and only one root element). We recommend to give the root element the ID, for example: ROOT-1.
2- Map the previously created root element ROOT-1 to the root element ID which comes from CRM i.e. ZLOCPROD:
- Go to your C4C System
- Go to Administrator work center
- Common Task ID Mapping for integration
- Edit Id Mapping for Integration
- From the list Mapping of:, select CRM Product Categories and select then the corresponding sender system ID
- Select Go
- Set ZLOCPROD as a mapping for the root product ID ROOT-1
