2312879 - Icons are not appearing in Succession Org Chart

The icons do not appear for some/all users in the Succession Org Chart.

This can happen because of any of the following:

• The “minValue” for the picklist options is configured incorrectly.
• The Succession Org Chart display options (legend) are configured incorrectly.
• The user being viewed does not have the fields populated correctly.
• If the icon is not displaying for the successors, the "target" attribute of the icon configuration may not have been configured.
• The logged-in user does not have ‘Succession Management and Matrix Report Permission ” over the user being viewed.

The resolution depends on what is causing the issue:

• The “minValue” for the picklist options is configured incorrectly.

The Succession Org Chart will retrieve the field value and associate it to an icon based on the minValue of the picklist option.

To resolve the issue, make sure that the minValue for each picklist option matches the value configured in the Succession Org Chart configuration. It is also recommended to set the maxValue and value to be equal to the minValue for each picklist option.

• The Succession Org Chart display options (legend) is configured incorrectly.

To solve the issue, make sure that:

1. The “key” attribute matches the SOC XML key for the corresponding standard element. You can see Wiki Page Succession Org Chart - How to configure Icons? for the correct mapping values.
2. The value configured in the Succession Org Chart configuration has one decimal place. The value should always be “#.0”. For example, “1.0”.
3. The value configured in the Succession Org Chart configuration matches the minValue defined for the picklist option.

• The user being viewed does not have the fields populated correctly.

To solve this issue, populate the talent fields for the user being viewed.

• If the icon is not displaying for the successors, the "target" attribute of the icon configuration may not have been configured.

For the icon to display for the successors, the “target” attribute needs to be configured in the Succession Org Chart XML configuration for the icons. There are three supported values for target:

• Empty target or attribute not defined: the icon will only display for the position’s incumbent;
• “successor”: the icon will only display for the successors;
• “both”: the icon will display for both the incumbent and the successors.

Example of this configuration:

• The logged-in user does not have ‘Succession Management and Matrix Report Permission” over the user being viewed.

To solve this issue, grant the ‘Succession Management and Matrix Report Permission” over the user being viewed.
