Symptom
Inserting data into ASE text field from a Java program when there is an instead of trigger and the JDBC property DYNAMIC_PREPARE=false can cause the text to be corrupted with extra character code zero's inserted between every normal characater. These can look like spaces when viewed through an application. e.g.
'test text' (DYNAMIC_PREPARE=true)
't e s t t e x t ' (DYNAMIC_PREPARE=false)
