Symptom
When using IE browser and printing a form through the 'Print' icon at the top of the form, it prints extra blank pages.
This issue is not visible on the print preview, so it is necessary actually print the Form to reproduce it.
Environment
Performance Management
Reproducing the Issue
- Open a Performance Form
- Click at the 'Print' icon at the top of the form
- Click on the 'Print' button on the print preview page
- As a result, the form is printed with extra blank pages
Cause
This issue is caused due to the IE parser. When you click at the print button, it will call the parser of each specific browser to build the html print.
There are many different parsers for each browser and operating systems and they cannot be controlled from SuccessFactors side. For this reason, the PDF button has been created into the system: with this button you can ensure the Forms will be printed in the same standards for all browsers. (PMU-2273)
Resolution
When using IE browser to print the forms you should use the "Save as PDF" option to generate a PDF version before printing the forms instead of using the "Print" option.
There is already an internal enhancement request created to solve the compatibility issues for browser integrated parser in the future so that our Product Managers can help to plan a fix for it. However, this is a plan and not a commitment. (PMU-2847)
