2316110 - How to Implement Cross Domain Solution - AICC Contents hosted in a different server location - [LMS]

Symptom

If you would like to host the AICC based contents in your own or 3rd party servers, please go through this KBA to understand the things that you are required to do.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Learning (LMS)

Cause

The reason why this is required is because a content needs a platform to be able to communicate with the LMS and in case of iContent (SAP's content storing solution) this platform is built-in and in case of your own server this platform has to be enabled.

Resolution

You have to provide us the crossdomain.xml file (required only if the content is Flash based AICC courses) that we would upload in the root directory of the customer's instance with the help of a new Support case.

For creating this crossdomain.xml file, please check the policy specifications on the adobe website in forum post and also this additional forum post. There are even discussions on StackOverflow website regarding this that would explain what should be used and how with simple settings/examples.

Cross Domain issues are outside of Customer Support scope.  To obtain the latest Proxlet WAR for CDS see KBA 2750417 Customer requests help for installing or modifying the Proxlet or if they want to set up a reverse proxy this has to go through Professional Services.

Also, we have seen customers requesting the same sample files attached with other documentation to be deployed at their instance which is a very liberal approach (as mentioned in one of the stackoverflow's update) which should not be used in production system.

Please update the XML with the necessary details with the help of your IT team or Implementation partner or Managed Services and provide us the crossdomain.xml file which would be deployed at the root directory of your instance with the help of a new support case.
