Symptom
- SAP or custom applications use the 'index compression' functionality introduced in ASE 16.0
- Table access (SELECT/DML queries) and ASE maintenance jobs (like update index statistics and reorg rebuild) on affected tables fail with Signal 11 followed by a stacktrace.
- The stacktrace references functions:
dol__index_decompress_row
bt__lfrow_cmp
- The affected table(s) can be identified from the SQL shown in the stacktrace or detected via dbcc checktable/dbcc checkindex command.
- Rebuilding the affected index does not help and error persists.
