2318992 - Failed: Installed version of BI Platform server is supported when installation Design Studio Add-On

Symptom

  • Design studio add-on 1.6 failed during prerequisites check with below error:

Failed: Installed version of BI Platform server is supported (Critical)

Information: You need to install BI- Platform server version 4.1
OR
Information: BI platform server must be installed with version 4.2. Please install this first in order to proceed with this installation

  • If running Windows, the following additional information may be seen just before the installer checks for the product being installed:
    SetupEngine.logs show information ReadValueFromRegistry:: failed to open registry key.
  • Repairs or uninstallations of the BI Platform will also fail
