2321379 - Signal 11 at address ct__tds_dynres_undo - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • ASE errorlog reports signal 11 at address ct__tds_dynres_undo
    • when having a remote (CIS) connection or
    • when executing a dynamic prepare statement
  • ASE in Process mode can shutdown as a result as the scheduler is affected

The errorlog in Process mode will show entries including

Current process (0x0) infected with signal 11 (SIGSEGV)
Address 0x0x0000000001ded156 (ct__tds_dynres_undo+0x16)
...
kechkfault: engine #: scheduler infected with signal 11 (SIGSEGV)
...
ueshutdown: exiting

with a stack including some or most of these modules:

ct__tds_dynres_undo
ct__tds_rd_done
ct__tds_read_token
ct__tds_resproc
ct_async_exec_stack
ct_poll

tdsrecv__dynexec_xoltp
tdsrecv__dynexec
tdsrecv_dynamic

  • ASE in Threaded mode may not shutdown but appear hung - no new logins or remote connections are possible. Reboot ASE.

The errorlog in Threaded mode may show

Current process (0x0) infected with signal 11 (SIGSEGV)
Address 0x0x0000000001ded156 (ct__tds_dynres_undo+0x16)

and one of these stacks including some or most of these modules:
