During a SAP system upgrade, the Software Update Manager (SUM) hangs after entering the credentials <sid>adm and the username. Screen is frozen with the animated loading pointer. You're not able to proceed with the upgrade.
The same problem was also observed on the middle of the Upgrade execution, when the tool would suddently stop updating its progress or stop responding to commands at all.
The Operating System uses a typical Unix shell (csh, ksh, sh, etc) with Centrify management product (like Centrify Direct Connect).
This KBA describes how SAP Host Agent problem derived from Centrify can affect the execution of the SUM too.
