Symptom
- The site user self-assigns an item (configured with 'Approval process' required) but the approval process is never triggered but the same item triggers an approval request for internal users.
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors Learning
- Training approvals
- Sites
Cause
Training approval is not currently an available feature for site users (shopping account = external) whether they are native or integrated (exist in Foundation as externals).
You can confirm the shopping account of the user by navigating to the user record:
- Login to LMS as admin
- People> Users> open the user record you want to review
- Finance > shopping acccount type
Resolution
We suggest you review your external user implementation with your implementation partner and discuss the use case for training approvals before undertaking any configuration changes (like changing the shopping account to internal) to avoid undesired consequences.
