2322266 - Text objects right edge is not cut off in CR for VS .NET Web Viewer

Text objects are not cut off in web viewer on the right side, does not look the same as in CR Designer

Crystal Reports for Visual Studio

1. Create a report in CR Designer and format the object so the text is cut off on the right side.
2. When previewed in CRD you see the text being cut off on the right margin.
3. When previewing the same report in CR for VS Web Viewer the whole text can be displayed over writing the object to the right.

 

Our Developers have looked into this request and determined due to the many variations of the various Browser engines in HTML there is no simple solution to make the formatting the same for all browsers and if applied could introduce a lot regression issues.

This issue has now been marked as By Design.

Solution:

To work around the problem simply add margins to the object so it will limit the length of data being displayed. You may need to create one version of the report for each Browser supported.

Another option is to export to PDF and view the PDF output.
