2324814 - Process consuming procedure cache unable to kill spids - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • Ran into a situation where 2 spids were using 8GB of memory each were not able to be killed.
  • Caused problems for the others processes trying to use procedure cache.
  • sp_who show these processes in "Awaiting Command". These processes could also holding locks and blocked other processes.
  • monProcesswaits show wait event 280 "wait for access to a memory manager semaphore".
