2325467 - Exception when using Analysis for Office to connect to HANA with SSL/TLS

When using Analysis for Office to connect to HANA with SSL/TLS, you get this error message:

The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel.

The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure.

SAP Analysis for Microsoft Office

1. Start Analysis for Office.
2. Click "Insert Data Source" button  -> "Select Data Source" -> right click on blank area -> "Create New SAP HANA Connection" -> input the information and click "Create" button.
3. Double click the new created HANA Connection and input the logon information, then click "OK" button.

The HTTPS/SSL configuration is not correct.

Please run the URL on browser and check if you get below error pages:

In the error case please ensure that you have configured SSL correctly on HANA server (see Configure HTTPS (SSL) for Client Application Access - SAP HANA Administration Guide - SAP Library) and that the servers certificate (or one of its root certificates) is part of the Windows trust store.

If the issue still exists, please open a Customer case with component HAN-DB-SEC.
