2327951 - Do permission restrictions on Live Slides work for shared presentations? - Presentations

Assuming the following scenario: user A has permissions for everything and he creates a Presentation leveraging content from Live Slides. Then, user A shares the presentation with user B, who does not have the same permissions as user A. Will the presentation respect the permission setting when user B is viewing the shared presentation?

Yes, the Live Slides from the Shared Presentation will be restricted based on the permissions of the user that is viewing the Presentation. Please see below an example.

Example

User “Succession Administrator”, who has full admin rights, creates a presentation with three Live Slides: Succession Org Chart, Company Org Chart and Performance-Potential Matrix Report. All of the Live Slides start with the view from the company’s CEO, Alex Anderson, including all levels down.

After creating the presentation, he shares the presentation with Brooke Brown, who only has permissions over her direct reports. When Brooke Brown enters the presentation, she sees only the information that she has permissions to see:

Succession Org Chart Live Slide (Brooke Brown’s view): Brooke Brown can only see the successors for Mike Miller’s position, who is her indirect report, but she can’t see the successors for the other positions.

Company Org Chart Live Slide (Brooke Brown's view): Brooke Brown only has permissions to view her team’s hierarchy within the Company Org chart. As the Live Slide started from Alex Anderson, she receives a message saying “You do not have access to view the org chart”.

Performance-Potential Matrix Grid Report Live Slide (Brooke Brown's view): As Brooke Brown only has Succession Management and Matrix Report Permissions over her direct and indirect reports, she is only able to view these users populate in the Matrix Grid Report Live Slide.
