2329094 - Query Failing after table dropped, recreated and populated with data, and a new column added. SAP IQ

Symptom

The following items were done to an existing table:

  1. Dropped and recreated the table adding a column. The column added was a char(1) and a constant value of 'Y' added to existing data.  The column is nullable.
  2. Recreated a view that used the table.
  3. Recreated a function - that is also used by that table.
  4. Rebooted the IQ

The query does not fail per se, it fails with the following error:

  • Sybase Server error 13492 (severity 19): SQL Anywhere Error -1000: Temporary space limit exceeded
  • Same Query ran quickly in IQ before the addition of the new column.
