Symptom
- Crystal Reports Application Servers / Crystal Reports 2016 Application Servers fail to start
- /var/log/messages file include messages similar to the following:
- boe_crystalrasd[945]: Daemon message from Starting Crystal Reports Application Server : <Install_dir>/sap_bobj/enterprise_xi40/linux_x86/ras//boe_crystalras: %2.
- kernel: boe_crystalras[947]: segfault at 0 ip 0000000056651e6d sp 00000000fff348c0 error 4 in libkernel32.so[5660d000+131000]
- boe_crystalrasd[945]: Daemon message from Crystal Reports Application Server is down.: %2.boe_crystalrasd[945]: Crystal Report App Server stopped
- When attempting to run the registry repair script, from KBA 1612745, output similar to the following is returned:
- ./registry_repair_script40.sh: line 36: 15986 Segmentation fault "$MWHOME"/bin-${MWCONFIG_NAME}_optimized/regedit -c "$MWHOME"/../regupdate.reg > /dev/null 2>&1
- setup/setupfunctions.sh: line 430: 15996 Segmentation fault "$MWHOME/bin-${MWCONFIG_NAME}_optimized/regsvr32" -c -nodisplay -s "$ITEM32" > /dev/null
- setup/setupfunctions.sh: line 430: 16004 Segmentation fault "$MWHOME/bin-${MWCONFIG_NAME}_optimized/regsvr32" -c -nodisplay -s "$ITEM32" > /dev/null
- [similar messages may be reported 30 or more times, and may also make reference to a core dump being created]
