2330987 - sp_iqcolumn report 'Error -638: Right truncation of string data'.

Symptom

  • RTL DSI into IQ shutdown due to the following error:
    ERROR #1028 DSI EXEC(394(1) prod.iq) - dsiqmint.c(4696)
    Message from server: Message: -638, State 0, Severity 16 -- 'SQL Anywhere Error -638: Right truncation of string data'.
  •  In the IQ sql log, it reports the error is caused by the execution of thye sp_iqcolumn. When executing the same command in IQ server, the following error reported:
    (DBA)> sp_iqcolumn TAB
    Could not execute statement.
    Right truncation of string data
    SQLCODE=-638, ODBC 3 State="22001"
    Line 1, column 1
    sp_iqcolumn TAB
