Symptom
When using the Basic Information Username in Talent Search, the system is not returning users based on the username typed in the criteria box.
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
- SAP Success Factors Succession Management
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the Talent Search;
- In Basic Information section, select the criteria Username;
- Type a Username of an active user.;
- No results are returned.
Cause
This behavior is caused by the option "Hide Username in the UI" being enabled in the Admin Center.
Resolution
The option "Hide Username in the UI" disables everyone in the instance to search by Usernames across the application.
It does not affect only the Username search in Talent Search, but the People Search, as well.
To enable the search by Username in the instance, it is necessary to disable the option in the Admin center
Admin Center -
- Go to the "Admin Center";
- Select "Platform Feature Settings";
- Disable the option "Hide Username in the UI".
- Save changes.
Once the above option is disable, you will be able to search by Username across your instance including the Talent Search.
NOTE: If the user is inactive then no suggestions will be returned despite having "Hide Username in the UI" This is expected system behavior.
