2331186 - Received unexpected or delayed Document Routing Notification - Performance Management

• End user received unexpected form routing email notification.
• The particular route step was performed several months ago, however corresponding form routing mail notification is not sent until someday later.

SAP SuccessFactors Performance Management

1. Go to Admin Center > Company Setting > Email Notification Templates setting, check and enable "Document Routing Notification" 
2. Create a PM form and route it to the next step.
3. Check login user's mail box, Document Routing mail is not received even after a few hours.
4. The user received related notification after a few days/months.

The issue is caused by an "Enforce start date" option enabled for the particular route step in the corresponding route map.

Let's say the form's launched with route map as Step A -> Step B -> Step C.

If we enable "Enforce start date" option and set a future start date for Step B, when form is routed from Step A to Step B, it will not trigger the Document Routing notification instantly, instead system will generate and save a record in server side, and the Document Routing notification will not be triggered until the forced start date. (a back-end job is scheduled to run every day to check those records which meet date condition to trigger email).

Disable the "Enforce start date" option in route map if you want to receive Doucment Routing Notification instantly.

Also make sure there's no Consolidate setting for your notification template, which is also a possible factor to cause notification delay.

How to disable the option

1. Go to Admin Center > Manage Route Maps
2. Click the particular route map form is using
3. Click one step, you will find the option "Enforce start date" in the right side "Step Configurations".

Please note that disable this option will not delete delay scheduled mail records which is already created for the previous form in server side.
