2333400 - How to Update Marketing Attributes Using Data Workbench Work Center

Symptom

This document will guide you on how to update Marketing Attributes using Data Workbench work center

Environment

SAP Hybris Cloud for Customer 1711 and higher.

Resolution

Scenario 1: To add additional Marketing Attributes to a Customer you can follow the below steps

a. If root External Key(BusinessAttributeAssignmentExternalKey) is known, you can use it to add another attribute

  1. Go to Data Workbench work center
  2. Click Import view
  3. Select Individual Objects
  4. Select object as Attribute Assignment Item
  5. Click Download Metadata.

Once downloaded, fill the template as per the screenshot below and then import the template

Note: ITEM001, EXT001, ABD and XYZ are dummy values

b. If the External Key is not known, you can follow the below steps to export the data and update

  1. Go to Data Workbench work center;
  2. Select Export View;
  3. Select object Attribute Assignment Item;
  4. Under Filters select field Business Partner ID;
  5. Select condition Equals to;
  6. Under Values add the business partner ID;
  7. Click Next and then click Export Data.

Open the export file and delete the unwanted columns in the file. Make sure to keep the ParentObjectID and clear the ObjectID. Then update the Attribute_Set_ID, Attribute_ID, Value as required and then follow the below steps.

  1. Go to Data Workbench work center.
  2. Select Import and Update.
  3. Select Object as Attribute Assignment Item.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Upload the template.
  6. Click Import.

Scenario 2: Use Import Complete Business Objects option to add another Marketing Attribute to a customer

If a new Marketing Attribute is to be linked to an Account, you can use the option Complete Business Objects:

  1. Go to Data Workbench work center;
  2. Click Import;
  3. Select Complete Business Objects;
  4. Select object Attribute Assignment;
  5. Click Download Metadata;
  6. Open downloaded ZIP file BusinessAttributeAssignment.zip;
  7. Extract the Template folder and fill both templates as below;
  8. BusinessAttributeAssignment.csv

  12. Add both CSV templates to a zip file;
  13. Upload zip file and complete the import.

Note: ITEM001, EXT002, DFG, 12345678, BUPAEXTKEY123 and ZYX2 are dummy values
