2333909 - Changing Effective As of Date Doesn't Update the Hire Date Field in Employment Details

• Hire Date field can't be changed directly from the Employment Details portlet or from Take Action > Employment Details page. This is an expected behaviour.
• Changing the Effective as of date in the oldest record in the Job history updates the Hire Date field in the Employment Details portlet.
• This seems to work for some records and not for others. There is no apparent difference between the two records.

• SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
• SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

• Changed Effective as of date to 10/10/2014 in the oldest record in the job history. Hire Date in Employment Details and portlet gets updated with this date.
• Changed Effective as of date to 15/02/2013 in the oldest record in the job history. Hire Date in Employment Details portlet does not get updated. It still shows the old date (03/06/2013).

• For the changes made in new hire record event date in the JOB HISTORY, to reflect in hire date for the employment information, both the dates should be the same.
• In case the dates are not same, the changes made in job history will not reflect in the hire date.

1. To resolve this concern update the new hire record with the exact same date as the hire date present in employment information.
2. Then proceed with making any changes again in the job history.
3. This time the changes will reflect in the employment information for the employee.
