2335363 - The 'Print Certificate' button is missing in the users' Learning History

Users successfully complete the item. However, when navigating to the Learning History, the 'Print Certificate' button is not available.

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

1. Log into HCM > navigate to the Learning module >
2. Navigate to the Learning History >
3. Notice that the under the "Action" column the certificate button is missing, so the certificates can't be printed out.

There are three causes for the missing button:

1. If it's missing for all completed items, most likely this is happening due to a missing permission;
2. If it's missing only for some items, then the completion events' statuses are not granting credit for the users;
3. In case it's an External event, the button not being available is the expected behavior.

For the Cause #1:

1. At the Learning Administrator side, first check the affected user's role >
2. Then access the user's role and add the permission 'Run User Certificate of Completion History Record Report' to it.

Important:

• For the step by step on how to fulfill the above steps, please refer to KBA 2497466 - Adding Permissions to a Role.
• Currently, the Learning application uses only the permission above to control the certificate generation. Users that don't have this permission will not be able to print any certificates.

For the Cause #2:

1. At Learning Administration > People > Users > search for the affected user's record and access it >
2. Navigate to the Completed Items tab and search for the item for which the 'Print Certificate' button is missing >
3. For the affected item, click on '' >
4. Note the Completion Status > the first part (that is, outside the () sign) is the completion status ID >
5. Now at References > Manage User Learning > Completion Status >
6. Search for the completion status ID, making sure to set 'Provide credit' as No >
7. Open the entity in the edit mode >
8. Enable the setting 'Credit Given' and click on 'Apply Changes' >
9. After this, once the user access their Learning History again, the 'Print Certificate' button should be available.

Note:

• There is no option to hide/remove the 'Print Certificate' button for some completion events only. Depending on the requirements above, the button will be displayed for all completed items or none.
