2335799 - "[RemoteOSCollector.collect] Invalid character used in command parameters: ;" error in SMD Agent Log

Symptom

  • In the system monitoring UI, grey metrics for the metric "SAP Router OS Availability" is seen after successfully configuring the path to /usr/sap and name to "Custom Scripts".
  • In the OS Command console, execute the script check_saprouter.sh. But in the SMD agent logviewer, the following error message can be seen:
    "com.sap.smd.e2emai Text [RemoteOSCollector.collect] Invalid character used in command parameters: ;
    [EXCEPTION]
    com.sap.smd.mai.model.collector.CollectorException: [RemoteOSCollector.collect] Invalid character used in command parameters: ;
    at com.sap.smd.mai.model.collector.RemoteOSCollector.collect(RemoteOSCollector.java:140)
    at com.sap.smd.mai.job.MetricJobRunner.run(MetricJobRunner.java:32)
    at com.sap.smd.server.exec.TaskRunner.run(TaskRunner.java:47)
    at com.sap.smd.server.util.concurrent.PooledExecutor$Worker.run(PooledExecutor.java:781)
    at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:763)"
