2336496 - JVM: ambiguous pci general failure errors (ERROR: JNI_CreateJavaVM; failed attaching to the JVM for AttachCurrentThread())

Symptom

  • The messages 'ERROR: JNI_CreateJavaVM; failed attaching to the JVM for AttachCurrentThread() with -1', 'WARNING: FindClassWithLoaderID; is re-throwing Exception' or 'WARNING: FindPublicMethodFlags; is re-throwing Exception' may be reported in the SAP ASE error log, when the PCI memory pool is running out of memory. 
     
  • In the ASE logs can be found
kernel PCI(T1): WARNING:FindPublicMethodFlags; is re-throwing Exception
kernel PCI(T1): WARNING:FindClassWithLoaderID; is re-throwing Exception
kernel PCI(M1): ERROR: JNI_CreateJavaVM; failed attaching to the JVM for AttachCurrentThread() with -1
kernel PCI(M1): ERROR:JNI_CreateJavaVM; PCA/VM FAILED; general failure
