Default translation for GOs (for example, Position, Business Unit, etc) is not available.

Employee Central: Metadata Framework

Visibility of the field "defaultValue" in the object "GoLocalizedData" is set to "Not Visible".

Navigate to Admin Center - Configure Object Definitions - Select the object GOLocalizedData - Change Visibility of the field defaultValue to Editable.




This should resolve the issue.
