2338291 - DBDriver failed to load %1 is not a valid Win32 application

Symptom

  • DBDriver failed to load : <BIP INSTALL PATH>\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\dataAccess\connectionServer\drivers\lib32\dbd_oci.dll (%1 is not a valid Win32 application. ) error displayed in Information Design Tool
  • Migrating existing SAP Crystal Reports 20xx to Crystal Reports for Enterprise reporting off from Oracle datasource using Oracle Native Client (OCI)
  • When trying to save the report to the SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform, Relation connection to the Oracle datasource needs to be created on the Repository
  • When trying to create a new Relational connection in SAP BusinessObjects Information Design Tool to an oracle data source,

    - Oracle Native Client as a data source cannot be selected 
    or 
    - the following error message displayed:

       "DBDriver failed to load : <BIP INSTALL PATH>\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\dataAccess\connectionServer\drivers\lib32\dbd_oci.dll (%1 is not a valid Win32 application. )"
