2339307 - Error when server config size > 2TB

Symptom

New server arrived, went to setup to use 2.8 TB and started seeing these errors:

  • sp_cacheconfig 'named_cache','41GB';Msg 10886, Level 16, State 1 Server 'Server', Procedure 'sp_cacheconfig', Line 1733 An arithmetic overflow occurred during memory requirement calculation. Please reduce one or more memory consuming configuration parameters.
  • sp_configure 'max memory',0,'4096G' Msg 247, Level 16, State 1: Server 'rf_ASE16', Procedure 'sp_aux_getsize', Line 180: Arithmetic overflow during explicit conversion of FLOAT value '4294967296.0' to a INT field .
