Symptom
We find that Termination Date of an employee in Employment Details is not equal to the Effective Date of the corresponding record in Job Information.
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Termination
Reproducing the Issue
- Here a user has been terminated on January 8th, as we can see a record under Employment Details:
- But under Job Information/Job History, the Effective Date for the termination record is January 9th:
Cause
- Whenever a user is terminated on an effective date, it means that this employee becomes inactive (terminated) starting this effective date.
- In essence, the termination/last working day (where employee is still active) will be one day minus the effective day.
Note: In the termination workflow, the date will be shown as the termination date.
Resolution
This is an expected system behavior and logic is explained above. No changes to the behavior is intended to be implemented by product team.
