2341975 - Users are getting random HTTP 500 errors on preferences when accessing BI Launchpad using HTTPS (SSL).

Symptom

  • Users are getting random HTTP 500 errors on preferences when accessing BI Launchpad using HTTPS (SSL).
  • This started after BI 4.1 SP7 was applied and WEBI is not working either.
  • HTTP 500 errors are thrown on BI Launchpad preferences when accessing the HTTPS url. 
  • This however works fine when using HTTP url.
  • Tomcat Cache (WORK) folder was cleared and tomcat restarted but issue still persists.
  • All SSL files and configuration (server.xml) were checked and found to be identical to another working server.
  • The following errros are seen when accessing BI Lanchpad preferences -
  • error for WebI Preferences =>  Http status 500 - javax.servlet.ServletException: javax.servlet.jsp.JSPException: An error occurred while evaluating custom action attribute "value" with value "${prefForm.sortby}": Unable to find a value for "sortby" in object of class "com.businessobjects.clientaction.user.webipreferences.User_WebiPreferencesBean" using operator "." (null)

  • error for Schedule Destination =>  Http status 500 - javax.servlet.ServletException: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: com.businessobjects.component.explorer.destination.email.UIEmailDestinationTag.setEnable....
