Your system went live already and you have previously scoped the Country China in a test system of your change project. You now want to descope this localization again but an error message appears:

Some protected element in inference (constraint) BO_A1S_FIN_ADGR_TAX_CN AND BP_A1S_FI contradict with each other.

SAP Business ByDesign

In the test system of your change project:

1. Go to Business Configuration work center.
2. Go to Implementation Projects view.
3. Select the respective project and click Edit Project Scope button.
4. Press Edit Countries.
5. Now de-select China, i.e. move China from the right (Selected Countries) table to the left (Available Countries) table.
6. Click OK.
7. Click Next.
8. An error message appears: Some protected element in inference (constraint) BO_A1S_FIN_ADGR_TAX_CN AND BP_A1S_FI contradict with each other.

This error message when deselecting China appears as a specific setting, Account Determination Groups for Taxes - China (BO_A1S_FIN_ADGR_TAX_CN) is in scope as the country China is in scope. In a Live system this setting is protected. It can only be switched on but not switched off.

The only solution here is to cancel the change project from the project list in the test tenant in case the current setting should not be merged. Otherwise you need to re-create the change project for all other pending changes.

To cancel the project

1. Navigate to the Business Configuration workcenter and here to the Implementation Projects view.
2. Select the respective project and press Cancel Project.
