The ‘Update’ button is not available in the Dependents Workflow

Employee Central: Dependents Management

1. Go to To-Do items and elect a Dependents Workflow from the list
2. Open the workflow and observe that only Approve and Send Back options are available

This is expected behavior. Approvers only get the "Approve" or "Send Back" options.

For the "Update" option this is currently not supported by Dependents workflows - so current behavior is as follows:

1) If the workflow approver chooses the "Send Back" option, the workflow will go back to the workflow initiator who can either "Resubmit" or "Withdraw" the request.

2) There is no option to "Update" meaning that "In Flight Changes" is not supported for Dependents workflows

The solution here is to "Send Back" with a comment to Withdraw and resubmit the request with the correction.
