2344183 - Scale error may not be raised during implicit conversion even when arithabort numeric_truncation option is on - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • Stored procedure containing a table insert may truncate an approximate numeric value during implicit conversion to exact numeric datatype.
  • Session level option arithabort numeric_truncation is ignored.
  • Scale error (Msg 241) may not be raised despite arithabort numeric_truncation option being switched on.
