Symptom

You receive an error when you apply for leave:

Error Message : Holiday Account requires sufficent quota for posting on the DD.MM.YYYY

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Time Administration workcenter
  2. Select Employees view
  3. Select the dropdown Show and select the value Modified View - Active Employees
  4. Select the required employee
  5. Select the tab Time Account Balances

Cause

This can happen due to two reasons:

Case 1) When the number of leaves applied exceeds the available leave balance (remaining leaves in the respective Time Account).

Case 2) Actual number matches but not displaying the actual unpaid break in Time Account Balance due to round off duration for unpaid break (break time may be less than an hour). Which is very negligible however still accountable. Hence a total of available leave balance and unpaid break exceeding the applied leave quota.

Example:

An employee can take total 30 leaves per year.
When you check the available leave balance for an employee it shows a balance of 5 days and taken 25.
However when apply for 5 days leave and you receive the error.
This is due to unpaid break. The unpaid break duration recorded by the time recorder is 0,01 time which then rounds off to 1,01 days in time recording.

Resolution

This is expected system behavior.
