2345872 - FTPS communication channel terminates with "Unexpected reply code 536"

You are using the File Adapter trying to connect to FTPS server. You have imported the certificate chain in your system yet the following error occurs during message processing:

Delivery of the message to the application using connection File_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System failed, due to: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: Error when getting an FTP connection from connection pool: com.sap.aii.af.lib.util.concurrent.ResourcePoolException: Unable to create new pooled resource: FTPEx: Unexpected reply codeSecurity mechanism not supported.

You perform an XPI Inspector trace and notice the following reply from the FTPS server:

ftp server returns reply '536 Security mechanism not supported'

or

ftp server returns reply '534 Policy requires SSL'
