2345907 - reorg rebuild index fails with Msg 12323 -- Internal error occured during rebuild of index - ASE

Symptom

  • When running reorg rebuild index on compressed index, error 12323 state 43 may be raised
    during key movement.

  • Error 12323 is reported:

Msg 12323, Level 20, State 43:Line 2:
Internal error occurred during rebuild of index. Run dbcc checktable to see if the index is consistent.

  • Following stack is seen in the ASE error log:
