Symptom
LMS admin has access to an user, but cannot edit the user profile. There are no links to click.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Learning Management System (LMS)
Cause
Admin user is assigned a role which has view only access.
Note that even if admin has other roles assigned, the role may be restricted by domain restriction(s), thus, allowing only edit/add/view access to entities belonging to that domain.
Resolution
Add the workflow "Edit User" to the admin role, giving access to the allowable domains via workflow restriction, entity restriction, or function restriction.
- Access System Admin > Security > Role Management and search for the role assigned to the admin user;
- Click to edit the role;
- Click on workflows, ensure the appropriate workflows are assigned (Edit User in this case);
- Add the allowable domain to Workflow Restr., Entity Restr. and/or Function Restr. tabs of the role;
- Save changes.
NOTE: The "Edit User" workflow will allow the admin to modify all the details from the user profile, it is not possible to control access to modify fields individually.
