2349953 - Why is a space bar taking up 6 characters under "Characters left" when adding comments in employee's Performance Form?

When pasting and/or writing comments in employee's performance form, it can be seen the number of characters left. This feature may not reflect the correct number because RTE count the html characters.

For example, after adding a space bar, the count decreases by 1 character (as expected), but when another space bar is typed, the count decreases to 6 chars.
