2350190 - Query not Working in Repository Explorer in the SDK (Production Tenant)

Symptom

You are trying to use the Execute Query function on a Business Object, using the Repository Explorer within the SDK.
However when you use this function, the SDK loads but no screen displays for you to Query.

Environment

  • SAP Cloud Application Studio (SDK - All Versions).

Reproducing the Issue

    1. Go to View in the Toolbar.
    2. Select Repository Explorer.
    3. Navigate to Business Object ABC (ABC represents the Business Object that you want to view).
    4. Select Query XYZ (XYZ represents the Query you want to execute).
    5. Right click on the Query and select the Execute Query option.

No screen will open to Execute the Query.

Cause

You cannot execute queries from the SDK within a Productive Tenant. This is only possible in Test and Partner Tenants. This has been done for security measures.

Resolution

In the OWL UI screen of the Business Object ABC in SAP Hybris Cloud for Customer / SAP Business ByDesign, you can add and execute the query XYZ from the UI with the correct Authorisations.
