Symptom
If Admins not able to view Item custom columns in the item details, if custom columns are set to visible in record configurations.
Then this issue is due to missing Workflows in admin role id.

Resolution
Adding "View Item Custom Column" workflow to admin role id will fix the issue.
Steps to add the workflow.
1) Navigate to System Admin > Security > Role Management > search for the role id
2) Select Workflows , click on add one or more from list
3) Under Learning Management select "View Item Custom Column".
4) Add the workflow to the role id.
